We understand the importance of food safety and hygiene. We don't make it complicated; we make sure that our chicken is tasty and safe. We have implemented strict protocols and guidelines that apply to every step of the production process. How do we do that?

Cleaning line

Food safety and hygiene are our top priority at J. van de Kraats Kipspecialiteiten. To safeguard a high standard of hygiene, our crates are cleaned every day on our special cleaning line. The crates are thoroughly separated, cleaned and disinfected here to prevent cross-contamination and ensure a safe and hygienic environment for our chicken products. These strict cleaning protocols enable us to guarantee the quality and safety of our products, and they meet the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.

Strict hygiene protocols

We clean our facilities and equipment in line with strict hygiene protocols every day. This involves the use of approved cleaning agents and disinfection methods to prevent cross-contamination and to ensure a clean and safe production environment.

Employees’ personal hygiene

All employees who come into contact with the chicken or the production processes are required to wear personal protective equipment and wash their hands regularly. There are also clear guidelines on employees’ hygiene practices, such as daily washing of work clothing, hand washing at changes in production and following strict safety procedures in the event of illness. Safety first, always.


We have implemented a system that enables us to trace the origin of our chicken and raw materials. This provides complete transparency and helps us to identify and resolve any problems quickly.

Quality checks and inspections

We carry out regular quality checks and inspections to safeguard the food safety and quality of our products. This includes both internal audits and inspections by external bodies such as the Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA). We also undergo annual ISO certification audits to ensure that our processes and procedures comply with international food safety and quality management standards. These monitoring measures ensure that we consistently deliver high-quality chicken products that meet your expectations and our quality requirements.
